DVA Cleaning Services for Veterans on the Gold Coast
If you have been let down before, cleaners who did not show, a different face every fortnight, someone who needed telling the same thing three times, that is the part we fix first. Whether you are sorting this out for yourself or for a parent who has earned a bit of help, the deal is simple. We clean. You live.
Why Clean has been cleaning Australian homes since 2018, and we work with veterans, aged care networks and NDIS participants every week. On the Gold Coast that means a regular domestic clean, weekly or fortnightly, done by the same trained cleaner who already knows how you like things. No lock-in contracts. No chasing anyone. Just a house that stays on top of itself while you get on with your day.
Cleaning Support Under DVA Gold and White Cards
Your card determines what DVA will fund. A Gold Card covers clinically needed care and services for all conditions, once you have been assessed as needing them. A White Card covers services related to your accepted condition, so household help is funded where that condition is the reason you cannot manage the housework. Either way, home cleaning sits under the Veterans' Home Care (VHC) program, and the assessment agency decides the hours. We work to whatever your approval says.

Who Qualifies for DVA Home Cleaning Assistance
You are likely eligible for DVA funded domestic assistance if you are:
- A DVA Gold Card holder assessed as needing help at home
- A White Card holder whose accepted condition makes housework difficult
- A war widow or widower receiving DVA support
- A veteran recovering from surgery, injury or illness, where the need is short term
- Already approved under Veterans' Home Care for domestic assistance
Not sure which one you are? Call the VHC assessment agency for your area and they will run through it with you. We are happy to talk you through what happens after that.
What's Included in Every DVA Cleaning Visit
DVA household assistance covers indoor domestic work. It does not cover the heavy or outdoor jobs, which surprises a lot of people, so here it is plainly.
| Covered under DVA cleaning | Not covered |
|---|---|
| Kitchen benches, cooktop, sink and appliance exteriors | Yard and garden maintenance |
| Bathrooms, showers, toilets and mirrors | Window exteriors and gutters |
| Vacuuming and mopping all floors | Heavy lifting or furniture moving |
| Dusting, tidying and emptying bins | Deep or specialist carpet cleaning |
| High touch surfaces and general upkeep | Personal care and yard rubbish removal |
Anything outside your approved hours can still be arranged privately, quoted up front so there are no surprises.
Working With Veterans' Home Care and DVA Approval
The approval sits with DVA, not with us. A VHC assessment agency talks to you about what you can and cannot manage, then sets your service and your hours. Once that is done, you choose your provider. Bring us your DVA file number and your approval details and we take it from there, including scheduling and any changes down the track. Most of our veteran clients speak to us once at the start and then never think about it again.
Tailored Cleaning Plans for Each Veteran's Needs
Every home has its own order of importance. Some people want the bathrooms done properly and everything else second. Some want the kitchen spotless before the family visits. Some need the cleaner to work quietly around a partner who sleeps in the afternoon. We ask, we write it down, and we keep it on file so it happens the same way every visit without you repeating yourself.

Respectful, Trained and Police-Checked Cleaners
Every Why Clean cleaner is police checked, fully insured and trained in domestic and funded household work. They arrive on time, they knock, they explain what they are doing, and they treat your home and your privacy the way they should be treated. Patience matters here more than speed. If you would rather have the same person each visit, say so, and that is what we schedule.
Direct Invoicing to DVA, Not to Your Pocket
For approved VHC household services, we invoice the Department of Veterans' Affairs directly for the hours in your plan. No handling of payments on the day, no paperwork chase. Where the program applies a standard VHC contribution, or where you ask for extra work beyond your approved hours, we tell you the cost before we start. Everything is quoted plainly, in writing.
